With the Fiscal Year 2023 closing in, PENRO Laguna conducted its year-end performance review of the implemented programs, projects and activities on December 19, 2023 at the Regional Records Extension, PENRO Compound, Brgy. Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna to further enhance its service delivery to the public.

PENRO Eriberto B. Saños expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all personnel who worked together diligently to accomplish the assigned tasks and responsibilities, and urged every personnel to continue prompt delivery of services to the clientele. 

Further, accomplishments and the remaining targets for the year were discussed and presented, including operational instructions of the Regional Executive Director during the 4th Regional Management Conference. Moreover, the PRAISE Committee recognized the personnel commended in the 2023 Client Satisfaction Survey by giving them certificates of appreciation. 

Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria added distinction to the year-end assessment by gracing it with his presence, expressing gratitude to all personnel for their significant contributions towards accomplishing the targets. He also reminded everyone to take full advantage of the holiday season to be with their family and take a break from work.

PENRO Quezon conducted its 4th Full-Time Delivery Unit (FDU) meeting to monitor the progress and status of various projects, programs, and activities within its jurisdiction. 

The meeting was attended by PENR Officer, CENR Officers of Calauag, Catanauan, Tayabas, and Real, Chief MSD, Chief TSD, PENRO and CENRO Section Chiefs, Unit Heads, Accountant, Budget Officer, Planning Officers, NGP Coordinators, CMEMP Coordinator, Planning Section Staff, Protected Area Superintendent (PASu), and Assistant Protected Area Superintendent (APASu). 

It was also attended by officers and staff from the Regional Office headed by ARD for Management Services Ronita A. Unlayao, Chief Finance Mabel Grasparil, Assistant Chief, Finance Division/ DENREU Representative Dearly Balisan, PEO III Cristy Balasbas, and Chief of Staff/ SvEMS Victor D. Ombajino.

PENRO Quezon Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Committee carried out a surprise random sugar check, in a proactive move towards prioritizing the health and well-being of its personnel.

The OSH Committee took the initiative to conduct spontaneous sugar level assessments as part of its comprehensive wellness program, in recognition of the importance of fostering a healthy workplace. This unannounced health check aimed to raise awareness about the significance of monitoring blood sugar levels and encourage a culture of health and wellness among employees.

This wellness initiative aligns with PENRO Quezon’s commitment to creating an environment that promotes the physical and mental well-being of its employees. By integrating health checks into the workplace, the organization not only demonstrates its dedication to employees' welfare but also underscores the importance of preventive health measures in fostering a robust and resilient workforce.

CENRO Catanauan, Quezon employees wear orange shirts in observance of the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

The 18-day campaign, themed “UNITEd for a VAW-free Philippines”, aimed to highlight the powerful impact of efforts towards the goal of ending violence against women in the country. The advocacy is observed annually from November 25 to December 12 as mandated by Proclamation 1172, Series of 2006 signed by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. 

On the other hand, RA 9262 otherwise known as the Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act creates and supports comprehensive and cost-effective responses to domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Moreover, under Republic Act 10398 or the Act declaring November 25 of every year as the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of VAWC, government agencies are mandated to raise awareness on the problem of violence and the elimination of all forms of violence against women. 

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Batangas attended the meeting for the output presentation following the completion of the field validation for the implementation of the “Land Cover Mapping Project”, which aims to classify the land cover based on the 12 categories set by the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA). 

The said activity was spearheaded by the NAMRIA and was attended by Technical staff from DENR Batangas particularly the GIS experts, and Batangas Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) – Batangas, and PG-ENRO Batangas employees.
