Environment Secretary Ramon J. P. University of the Philippines (U.P.) President Alfredo Pascual lauds the launch of the U.P. Program for Environmental Governance (UP-PEG) as another “positive contribution” of the state university in developing the leadership and managerial skills of environmental authorities at the provincial and municipal levels on Friday, Jan. 18, 2016 at the U.P. Jonas Leones underscores the need to sustain the agency’s partnership with the University of the Philippines in bringing about a new breed of environment leaders during the launch of the ‘U.P. Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Undersecretary Demetrio Ignacio underscores the need for stronger cooperation and support in the fight against illegal wildlife trade during the national celebration of World Wildlife Day held at the Biodiversity Management Bureau in Quezon City.  With global theme, “Wildlife crime is serious, let’s get serious about wildlife crime,” the Philippine celebration was highlighted by DENR’s recognition of 112 law enforcers from the Philippine National Police, National Bureau of Investigation and the Armed Forces of the Philippines who actively participated in the government’s anti-illegal wildlife trade operations. ###
