The apprehension of the forest products emanated from an anonymous call received by the said Section regarding an alleged illegal cutting of trees and hauling of lumber. CENRO Calaca conducted the investigation and surveillance in coordination with the Barangay Officials and the Tuy Police Station, and the subsequent retrieval and hauling of lumber from the creek from September 19, 2023 to October 2, 2023.

The apprehended abandoned forest products have no supporting legal document from the DENR, showing a violation of Section 77 (formerly Section 68) of PD 705 as amended by EO 277. CENRO Calaca already conducted the necessary activities such as issuance of Apprehension Receipt and other documents in preparation for the conduct of the Administrative Confiscation Proceedings pursuant to DENR Administrative Order No. 97-32.

The continuous intensification of forest protection activities and coordination with other local partner agencies, LGUs, and other law enforcement agencies within the areas of responsibility under CENRO Calaca, resulted in the apprehension of the said forest products.
