CENRO REAL CONDUCTED INVENTORY AND MAPPING OF IDENTIFIED CAVES AND INLAND WETLANDS WITHIN THE ADMINISTRATIVE JURISDICTION OF REAL, QUEZON

The Composite Team of DENR- CENRO Real, Quezon conducted an inventory and mapping of identified caves and inland wetlands within the administrative jurisdiction of CENRO Real, Quezon. A total of eight (8) caves were identified and mapped by the team wherein four (4) of those caves were previously assessed by the joint team of DENR Regional Office and CENRO Real Office which include Mapanghi and Sumuot-Bulalon caves situated at Poblacion, Burdeos, Quezon and Sumuot and Twin Caves at Barangays Canicanian and Languyin, Polillo, Quezon, respectively.

Meanwhile, four (4) of the remaining caves shall be considered for further assessment by the concerned authority for Cave Classification which includes Tulaog cave in Sitio Tulaog, Brgy. San Marcelino, General Nakar, Quezon, Puting Bato cave at Brgy. Aluyon, Burdeos, Quezon, Cabugao Cave at Brgy. Cabugao, Burdeos, Quezon and Tinagong Pantay cave at Brgy. Luod, Patnanungan, Quezon.

In addition, a total of two (2) inland wetlands were also identified and mapped which include Pudaw wetland located at Brgy. Apad, Jomalig, Quezon, and an unnamed wetland situated at Brgy. Tanauan, Real, Quezon; and the latter aforementioned wetlands fall within the protected area under Presidential Proclamation no. 1636 and further assessment shall be considered to know the value and importance of the subject wetland biodiversity in the area.###
