One Serpent Eagle (𝘚𝘱π˜ͺ𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘯π˜ͺ𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘱π˜ͺ𝘭𝘢𝘴) was successfully released along the Alitao River, Tayabas City on March 31, 2023 by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Tayabas City with the assistance from the Local Government Units of Tayabas through their City ENRO, and representatives of Barangay Alitao.
 
The personnel of the City ENRO voluntarily turned over the wildlife to DENR-CENRO Tayabas on March 28, 2023. The release was carried out immediately through collaboration with the stated agencies.
 
The said species has undergone medical evaluations undertaken by the City Veterinarian of Tayabas, in which it was observed and recommended to be released back to its natural habitat to reduce stress.
 
This activity is in line with RA 9147 or the Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act of 2001 in order to preserve and encourage ecological balance and biological diversity for the preservation and protection of wildlife species and their natural habitats.
 
CENRO Tayabas continuously calls for these types of incidents to be reported in order to protect and conserve our biodiversity. ###
