A total of 131 pieces of lumber/flitches equivalent to 1,199.32 bd.ft of Narra and Mahogany were seized and turned-over to DENR PENRO Cavite this 04 August 2022.

Through the assistance of PNP Regional Office CALABARZON led by PSMS Rolando M. Guario Jr., 63 pieces of abandoned lumber/flitches of Narra equivalent to 463.92 bd.ft were recovered from Barangay Mabuhay, Carmona. Similarly, 68 pieces of abandoned lumber/flitches of Mahogany which corresponds to 735.4 bd.ft were seized by DENR PENRO Cavite personnel on the at Barangay Banaba Lejos, Indang, Cavite.

Pursuant to the provision of Presidential Decree No. 705 as amended by Executive Order No. 277 and DENR Administrative Order No. 97-32 series of 1997; “cutting, gathering and collecting or possession of timber or other products without licenses is prohibited or guilty of qualified theft as punishable under the revised penal code.”

PNP 4A in coordination with DENR PENRO Cavite will file charges against individuals who are involved in the case.

The apprehended lumber/flitches were successfully turned-over to DENR and were hauled and stock piled in the DENR provincial impounding area located at FCIE Compound, Pueblocillo Subdivision, Brgy. Langkaan I, Dasmariñas City, Cavite for safe keeping. ####
