The DENR-CENRO Calauag headed by CENRO Officer Joselito D. Barros, ensued courtesy rounds on 4 August 2022 to the newly elected officials within territorial jurisdiction of CENRO Calauag, Quezon.

CENRO Barros visited the office of Hon. Keith Micah D.L. Tan, 4th District Representative of Quezon Province in Brgy. Camohaguin, Gumaca, Quezon, to introduce activities of CENRO Calauag geared to the programs and projects of the DENR. 

Together with the Monitoring and Enforcement Section (MES) Chief, Forester III Romel David D. Rama, and Conservation and Development Section (CDS) Chief, EMS II Novet Joy S. Pantalunan, and other technical personnel of CENRO Calauag, CENRO Barros has presented to Hon. Tan some of the programs and projects of the DENR, including the Handog Titulo Program and Community-Based Employment Program (CBEP), among others.

CENRO Barros also encouraged the representative and his subordinates to participate and support the tree growing and coastal/river cleanup initiatives of CENRO Calauag to improve the environment and watersheds within the jurisdiction.

Furthermore, the upcoming proclamation of Alabat Watershed Forest Reserve (AWFR) as a legislated Protected Area under RA 7586, as amended by RA 11038, was also tackled.

Critical habitat and enforcement activities such as confiscation of forest products and illegal selling of wildlife were elaborated as part of the intensification of forest protection and anti-Illegal logging campaign of CENRO Calauag.

CENRO Barros also presented the proposal to improve the Pipisik River that extends in Brgys. Butaguin, Mabini, Progreso, Pipisik, and Sastre in Gumaca, Quezon.

The said courtesy visit of CENRO Calauag headed by CENR Officer Joselito D. Barros is part of the exercise on the control and general supervision over the implementation of laws, policies, regulations, and programs of the DENR. The undertaking is consistent with the priority programs of the department and will ensure to promote the environmental campaigns of the DENR.
