EDC, DENR CALABARZON ink In-Situ Conservation Project in Lobo, Batangas

The DENR CALABARZON and Energy Development Corporation inked a Memorandum of Agreement on the In-situ Conservation Project under the BINHI Program of EDC. The said program aims to restore denuded forests, preserve and propagate threatened native tree species, and protect biodiversity. The conservation project will focus on the Seed Source Area in Brgy. Sawang, Lobo, Batangas, a known location of the remaining population of one of the rarest and threatened tree species, the Philippine Teak (Tectona philippinensis).
