Simultaneous River Clean-up Activities in Pansipit River were conducted by Conservation and Development Section personnel of DENR CENRO Calaca headed by Forester Elizabeth C. Galit.

Pansipit River is one of the nominated rivers for “R.I.V.E.Rs for Life Program” and it serves as a bloodline as it provides various products and services that are essential for the communities surrounding it specially the Municipalities of Taal and Lemery. R.I.V.E.Rs stands for Recognizing Individuals/ Institutions towards Vibrants and Enhanced Rivers. According to For. Galit, in order to be recognized or for the river to be awarded, continuous initiatives/ interventions must be conducted on the nominated river.

Participated in the said activity are barangay officials and 4Ps members of District I, District II and Bagong Sikat, Lemery, Batangas together with the personnel of Sem Calaca Power Corporation (SCPC)/ South Luzon Generation Power Generation Corporation (SLGPC) and HTER Construction and Supply Corporation

Also, Information Education and Communication (IEC) Materials re: RA 9003 or Solid Waste Management Act of 2000 were distributed in support to the R.I.V.E.R.S for Life Program of DENR CENRO Calaca.
