In line with the celebration of Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week, DENR CENRO Lipa City collaborates with the Youth for Environment in Schools-Organization (YES-O) of The Lipa Grace Academy, Inc. for the conduct of different educational campaign involving the said celebration.

On November 11, 2023, CENRO Lipa City through Project Evaluation Officer I Jozen Kenneth Reyes of MBSCMO Batangas delivered a lecture by way of a webinar entitled “Plastic Pollution Awareness: A Key to a Sustainable Future. He discussed the environmental impacts of plastic pollution on wildlife, ecosystems and in human health. He also presented some initiatives of the government and private industries in regulating the production and use of single-use plastics, while promoting the adoption of sustainable alternatives. Moreover, PEO I Reyes highlighted the initiatives of Lipa City to combat plastic waste pollution like weekly clean-up and foot patrolling activities, de-clogging activities, trash to cash program and ecological and vertical gardens.

Said webinar was participated in by thirty-four (34) students from Grades 7-12 of The Lipa Grace Academy, Inc. Campus 2.

Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week is celebrated every year pursuant to Proclamation No. 1667 issued on November 18, 2008. This year’s theme “Bayanihan Para sa Klima: Bagong Bansang Matatag” conveys a message of collective action in addressing the impacts of the climate crisis.
