CENRO Sta. Cruz in partnership with Laguna Thursday Civic Club (LTCC), San Pablo Bodies, Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Order of the Eastern Star (OES)-Maria Makiling Chapter, PAREB-Calamba Laguna Real Estate Board (CLRB), Inc., and Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines (GEP) conducted a tree growing activity in the NGP CY 2016 259 hectares Indigenous Plantation at Brgy. Tala, Rizal, Laguna.
 
A total of 500 seedlings of various species such as Narra (๐˜—๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฑ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ถ๐˜ด), Yakal (๐˜š๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ต๐˜บ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ด๐˜ข), Bignai (๐˜ˆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฎ๐˜ข ๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ช๐˜ถ๐˜ด), Calamansi (๐˜Š๐˜ช๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ฎ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฑ๐˜ข), and Guyabano (๐˜ˆ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ๐˜ข ๐˜ฎ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ค๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ข) were planted by the 56 participants from the partner organizations.
 
CENRO Sta. Cruz has consistently been engaging the participation of the private sector, community, and other key stakeholders in the implementation of the Expanded National Greening Program (eNGP) in support of Tayo ang Kalikasan (TAK) platform within the 3rd and 4th Districts of Laguna. For this year, 17 tree-growing activities were conducted and six (6) Memoranda of Agreement were forged for the adoption of graduated National Greening Program (NGP) sites.
 
CENRO Venerando U. Garcia emphasized that this activity is an opportunity to strengthen partnerships toward the goal of nurturing and protecting the environment. The goal of tree-growing activity has always been for the betterment of the environment as this is one of the strategies in promoting sustainable development, he added.
 
The Local Government Unit of Rizal, Laguna represented by Municipal Tourism Officer, Hannah Pearl Isleta extended their gratefulness for being part of the said activity while emphasizing the importance of tree planting to the residents of the area and other visitors planning to explore the Tanaw de Rizal, an ecotourism destination.
 
All of the participating organizations expressed their continuous support in promoting conservation, management, and development of the countryโ€™s environment and natural resources through similar endeavors.###
