PENRO LAGUNA WEARS ORANGE IN SUPPORT OF THE CAMPAIGN TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

PENRO Laguna adopted the “Orange Mondays” and wore orange shirts or anything with the touch of orange in solidarity with the nationwide observance of the 18-day campaign to end Violence Against Women (VAW). Wearing of orange was encouraged on December 4 and 11, 2023 during the flag-raising ceremony. 

The said campaign is held annually every 25th of November to the 12th of December by virtue of Proclamation 1172 series of 2006 and Republic Act 10398 or the Act declaring every 25th of November as the National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of VAW.  This year’s campaign is represented by the color orange which symbolizes hope and a future that is free of violence against women and girls. 

Brief discussion on Republic Act No. 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 was undertaken to emphasize the forms of violence and the corresponding penalties for such acts.
