The Kapit-Bisig Ugnayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), spearheaded a tree planting initiative within the Palsabangon Mangrove Swamp Forest Reserve (PMSFR).

A total of 80 potted mangrove species such as Tabigui, Tangal and Pototan were planted with the aim of enhancing the present flora diversity within the protected area.

The day commenced with a brief program, during which Park Maintenance Foreman Henry Basco of the DENR-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Tayabas City shared invaluable insights about the protected area. This included its historical significance and geographical context. He explained that the PMSFR is under the governance of a Protected Area Management Board (PAMB), an incorporation of external and internal stakeholders tasked with overseeing the comprehensive management and policy implementation of the area

A diverse group of 39 individuals actively participated in the event. The attendees consisted of 17 males and 22 females, all representing the Kapit-Bisig Ugnayan Multi-Purpose Cooperative. Their dedication to environmental conservation was evident as they worked together to plant the mangrove seedlings, demonstrating a shared commitment to preserving and nurturing this protected area.
