The Chief of the Conservation and Development Section, Forester Alipia D. Espiritu, presented the results of the watershed characterization for LARW covering the topics on river profiling; soil & water quality assessments; flora and fauna assessment; and vulnerability assessment within the LARW. Moreover, several issues and concerns identified during the key informant interviews were also presented during the event which aims to raise awareness and to come up with a concerted solution to address these identified issues.

The results of the key informant interview showed that the residents within LARW have low adaptability in terms of flooding, soil erosion, and landslides. Hence, several plans and programs have been proposed by the stakeholders to mitigate the possible adverse impact of natural calamities on the communities within LARW in order to help them become resilient in times of disaster.

Further, a workshop on SWOT analysis was also conducted as part of the activity that will serve as a guide for the stakeholders to assess internal and external factors that might affect the condition of LARW. ###
