In celebration of Presidential Proclamation No. 1401 of 2022 or the Philippine Bamboo Month and President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s birthday, PENRO Rizal, Forest Management Bureau (FMB), Isang Bansa Pilipino Movement (IBP), Kilusang Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP), One Movement, Inc (OMI), Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire and Investigation, Local Government Units, Civil Society Organization, and other stakeholders joined the Bamboo and Tree Planting at the Old Sanitary Landfill in San Mateo, Rizal and in the three (3) barangays in Tanay, Rizal on September 13, 2023.

A total of 409 participants planted 550 pcs of Bamboo-Tinik and Kiling, 1,000 pcs of Fruit-bearing trees, and 50 pcs of Narra seedlings.

The tree planting activity with the theme "Buhayin ang Pangangalaga ng Kalikasan” was first launched in September 2022 and attended by President Marcos Jr. at the Old Sanitary Landfill in San Mateo, Rizal.

The landfill under the supervision of the DENR Environmental Management Bureau launched its Bamboo Garden and Eco-Park in 2021 within its portion as part of the continuous rehabilitation activity.###
