Due to an increase in illegal aquaculture and fishing structures, as well as an abundance of water hyacinth and spinach that restrict water flow and the migration paths of migratory fish during spawning, schooling, and feeding, the Protected Area Management Office – Taal Volcano Protected Landscape (PAMO -TVPL) with the assistance of Provincial Public Order and Safety Department-Batangas (PPOSD); Philippine National Police– Municipal Police Station (PNP-MPS) Agoncillo and San Nicolas; Philippine Coast Guard – Coast Guard Sub Station (PCG-CGSS) San Nicolas and hired workforce are currently undertaking dismantling activity in Pansipit River.

According to PAMO-TVPL, the team already dismantled a total of 73 fish cages and approximately 60 truckloads of water hyacinth/lily. Continues implementation of the existing laws, rules, and regulations will be conducted in Taal Lake in coordination with the concerned stakeholders and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the compliance of every stakeholder.
