Los Baños, Laguna – As part of the culminating activities of PENRO Laguna in celebrating National Women’s Month, a forum on Proper Handling of Sexual Harassment Cases in Government Offices was held last March 29, 2023 at PENRO Laguna Multipurpose Hall, Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna.

PENRO Laguna, through its Gender and Development Focal Point System (GAD-FPS), invited Dr. Emilia Lastica-Ternura, Coordinator, Office of the Anti-Sexual Harassment, UPLB Gender Center to be the resource speaker on the said forum.

Among the compelling topics discussed by Dr. Ternura were gender sensitivity and sexual harassment particularly acts, liable persons, and the processes on how to conduct fact-finding investigation on the onset of sexual harassment cases in an office setting. The primary participants in the said forum are PENRO personnel identified as members of the Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) of Sexual Harassment Cases, as a mechanism to broaden their knowledge on how to handle sexual harassment cases and other gender-related issues. Apart from lectures and discussions, Dr. Ternura provided workshops to deepen the participants’ understanding on the topics.

Likewise, PENRO GAD-FPS distributed hygiene kits to selected female clients to mark the closing of the National Women’s Month celebration and as part of the “Serbisyo Para Kay Juana”.
