The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Tayabas City strengthens the campaign for environmental protection through the distribution of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials within its area of jurisdiction in the month of October 2022.

The barangays and some residents within various municipalities/cities received materials including posters, booklets, and fans containing the policies and programs of the department in fighting illegal activities occurring in the environment.

Posters regarding the proper waste disposal under Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management of 2000 were distributed to the coastal municipalities/cities within CENRO Tayabas including Lucena City, Sariaya, Mauban, Pagbilao, Padre Burgos, Unisan and Agdangan, Quezon.

Further, booklets and fans that contain the prohibitions and punishments on illegal cutting under PD 705 Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines and the collection, hunting, possession and poaching of wildlife and its punishments under Republic Act 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act of 2001 were distributed to other areas.

The said posters were also installed at the Mauban Monitoring Station intended to create awareness and disseminate information to the client and visitors. Aside from these, the Patrol Sectors of CENRO Tayabas regularly conducts other forms of campaign such as barangay meetings and lectures that help promote the programs and projects that this department provides.
