Injured Civet Cat rescued and turned over in RWRC

Staff and personnel of the Enforcement and Monitoring Section of DENR CENRO Lipa proceeded to Brgy. San Miguel, City of Sto. Tomas, Batangas to rescue one Asian Palm Civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus) under the custody of a certain Mr. Rocky Marcelo. As per information, the said wildlife was captured in Alaminos, Laguna near a rambutan plantation. Upon observation of the team, the right leg of this wildlife was injured and needed proper medication.

On the same day, the EMS staff conducted a turn-over activity of the said wildlife to the Regional Wildlife Rescue Center located in Brgy. Lamot II, Calauan, Laguna for appropriate health assessment and proper care.

In support to the campaign against illegal activities involving wildlife, CENRO Lipa implements various activities in the conservation and protection of the wildlife and their habitat; and initiatives to strengthen partnerships with the local government units in terms of law enforcement and provision of strict institutional safeguards for Philippine flora and fauna.
