Catanauan, Quezon ─ Personnel from Monitoring and Enforcement Section (MES) of CENRO Catanauan, Quezon assisted the Performance Evaluation Team for Community-Based Forest Management (PET-CBFM) of Expiring CBFMAs on 2025 namely, Samahang Bantay Kalikasan ng Calwit, Inc. (SBKCI, INC.) and Samahan ng mga Anak ng Dagat ng Lakdayan (SADLAK, INC.). 

The CBFMA Performance Evaluation was carried out in a participatory manner to enable the compliance of concerned CBFM-POs in terms of obligations as stated in the Agreement. It also facilitated the assessment of the appropriateness and effectiveness of the responsibilities undertaken by the government in the project implementation contributed to the level of performance of the tenure holder.  Further, it served as the basis for the DENR in gathering facts before the renewal is granted (or negated).

The result of the evaluation revealed that the SBKCI and SADLAK, INC. attained a score of 76.65 and 72.67, respectively (both achiever). This means that the PO is highly recommended for renewal for another 25 years.

The final report on the evaluation conducted will be submitted by the PET-CBFM to the Regional Executive Director, then for endorsement to DENR Secretary for evaluation and consideration. Some recommendations for each PO were listed in detail by the PET-CBFM team based on the ocular observation and legal documents of CBFMA managed areas by the two POs.
