In celebration of "International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove", DENR CENRO Lipa headed by OIC CENR Officer Januel Peras and Senior EMS Josefa Lozada with participation of the representatives from the MENRO of LGU of San Juan, barangay officials from Brgys. Pinagbayanan and Catmon and members Bantay Dagat, conducted a Mangove Tree Planting Activity in the above-cited barangays in San Juan earlier today, July 29, 2020.

Around 300 different species of Mangrove seedlings and propagules such as Api-api (Avicennia officinalis), Bungalon (Avicennia marina), Bakauan-bato (Rhizophora stylosa), Bakauan lalaki (Rhizophora apiculata), and Bakauan babae (Rhyzophora mucronata) were planted.

The said activity was conducted to further raise awareness on the importance of mangrove forests in balancing the Philippines' diverse ecosystems.

Be informed further that all the precautionary measures and safety protocols re: COVID-19 threat were properly practiced and observed during the said planting activity.
