The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-PENRO Cavite held a coordination meeting with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on October 2, 2023 at the PENR Office in Trece Martires City, aiming to curb the illegal environmental activities in the province.

The Provincial DENR and NBI join forces to strengthen the enforcement of ENR laws in Cavite, and conduct joint operations to have prompt action against violators within the protected area and forestlands in the province. Said collaboration will focus on the monitoring of furniture shops and wood processing plants to ensure that the sources of forest products are legal and sustainable. 

The partnership also aims to promote environmental stewardship in Cavite. DENR and NBI hope that through concerted and compassionate efforts, a shared principle of environmental responsibility will take root and thrive across the province.

Overall, the joint operation is a step towards the right direction to build a greener and more livable Cavite for future generations. Said partnership can make a lasting positive impact with the cooperation of the local communities and stakeholders.

Towards the end of the meeting, DENR-PENRO Cavite highly recommended the deputation of some personnel of NBI as Environment and Natural Resources Officers, and the inclusion of the said enforcement agency in the Provincial Anti-Illegal Logging Task Force. ###
