Calamba City - The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON and the Foundation for Economic Freedom (FEF) officially entered into a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) last February 10, 2023, for the implementation of the FEF project, Drone Survey for Land Tenure Security.

This project, headed by the FEF aims to use drone technology to help underprivileged land occupants to have their land surveyed as the first step to guarantee ownership of their lands.

As stipulated in the MOC, the FEF shall lead the conduct of drone surveys on at least 300 parcels of Alienable and Disposable (A & D) lands within CALABARZON, specifically in the Municipality of Calaca, Batangas. Meanwhile, DENR CALABARZON shall work closely with the FEF to ensure the smooth operation and implementation of the project.

“Ito ay napapanahon at consistent sa priority thrust ng ating kalihim, ‘yung paggamit ng teknolohiya sa ENR management”, shared Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria. He also thanked the FEF for choosing DENR CALABARZON as the pilot area for the implementation of their program.

Meanwhile, Atty. Erwin Tiamson of the FEF emphasized that underprivileged occupants shall be prioritized as beneficiaries of the project. Both FEF and DENR CALABARZON recognize the valuable contributions of the Atlas Network and Atlantic Council for providing the funding for the project.

FEF and DENR CALABARZON have been active partners since 2011.
