Calamba City, Laguna - Only 35% of the total land area of the CALABARZON Region is classified as forest lands.

With this, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria emphasizes the urgent need for our poll candidates to take a stand, in favor of the protection of our natural resources and intensified forest protection.

In 2021 alone, the country faced various typhoons that left different parts of the country flooded and left huge loss of properties.

Director Tamoria is also calling on LGUs, NGOs, academe, other organizations and institutions, and local communities for continued collaboration to provide a whole of government and holistic approach for the protection and conservation of our natural resources, especially our forests.

“Through our Tayo Ang Kalikasan movement, National Greening Program, and preparation of Forest Land Use Plan, we invite you to be a part of the solution and partner with us for the protection, conservation, development, and management of our forests here in the Region”, RED Tamoria added.

DENR urges the public to report ENR related cases via hotline 8888 or social media.
