On December 11, 2023, the DENR - CENRO Lipa through its Manila Bay Site/Coordinating Management Office (MBSCMO) - Batangas, held an orientation seminar regarding San Juan River Rehabilitation program of the DENR, for the newly elected Barangay Chairperson and the recently appointed Chairperson for the Committee on Environment of the Barangays along the San Juan River System  at the 3rd-floor Conference Hall of CENRO Lipa City. Said orientation was intended to empower the newly elected officials about environmental governance.

Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program, specifically San Juan River Rehabilitation Program, water quality, and solid waste management were the key topics discussed during the seminar whose common objective was to empower the barangay officials with the knowledge needed to actively contribute to the rehabilitation efforts of the DENR.

With a total of 49 participants (33 male and 16 female) in attendance, the orientation marked a significant step toward fostering community engagement and cooperation in ensuring the sustainable restoration of the San Juan River System. ###
