On December 12, 2023, Batangas Maritime Police Station turned over three (3) adult ringneck doves (Streptopelia risoria) to DENR CENRO Lipa through its Enforcement and Monitoring Section.

Said wildlife were confiscated through a buy-bust operation conducted on the same date in Plaza Orense, Brgy 2. Bauan, Batangas resulting in the apprehension of the seller from Brgy. Sta. Rita, Batangas City. Based on the report, the owner of the ringneck doves has no Certificate of Wildlife Registration as mandated under RA 9147 or Wildlife Conservation and Protection Act and DENR Administrative Order No. 2004-55.

Furthermore, on the same date, EMS personnel turned over the said wildlife to the Region IV-A Wildlife Rescue Center (RWRC) in Brgy. Lamot II, Calauan, Laguna for appropriate action considering its identification as threatened wildlife. ###
