A total of twenty-four (24) pieces of undocumented sawn lumbers of Amlang and White Lauan species were apprehended at Sitio Calimba, Brgy. Cagsiay II, Mauban, Quezon on August 18, 2023, as a result of the patrolling and monitoring efforts of the Mauban Patrol Sector of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Tayabas City

The apprehended forest products were discovered abandoned in the said barangay and had an aggregate volume of 217.97 board feet and a market value of ₱6,539.10 (₱30.00/bdft).

In accordance with the Department Administrative Order (DAO) No. 97-32 or the 1997 Rules for the Administrative Adjudication of Illegal Forest Products and the Machinery, Equipment, Tools, and Conveyances Used in Connection Therewith, while administrative confiscation proceedings are being carried out, the same was hauled from the apprehension site to the DENR Forest Products Monitoring Station in Brgy. Polo, Mauban, Quezon for safekeeping.

Meanwhile, on August 12, 2023, elements of Mauban Municipal Police Station (MPS) officially turned over the apprehended one hundred sixty-five (165) pieces of sawn lumber of Red Lauan and White Lauan species with an aggregate volume of 1,448.50 board feet and a total market value of ₱43,455.00.

According to the spot report from the Mauban MPS officers-on-case, apprehension transpired at around 8:00 o’clock in the evening of the same day in Brgy. Cagsiay II, Mauban, Quezon, by a joint operation conducted by the Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) and Philippine National Police (PNP) Mauban, in line with the intensified forest protection activities against illegal logging.

Same with other apprehended forest products, the sawn lumbers were immediately hauled to the DENR impounding area in Brgy. Calumpang, Tayabas City.
