LIPA CITY, BATANGAS - The Department of Environment And Natural Resources (DENR) Region IV-A (CALABARZON) through the Enforcement Division conducted the 3rd Quarter Regional Multi-Sectoral Forest Protection Committee (RMFPC) at the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Lipa City Conference Hall, Barangay Marawoy, Lipa City, Batangas. The meeting was attended by the RMFPC Chairperson, Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Officer (PGENRO) of Quezon province, Manuel Beloso, and representatives from various member agencies and stakeholders within the region. The quarterly meeting was conducted to discuss various initiatives, collaboration, and issues encountered in forest protection efforts by each member agency. 

Furthermore, the meeting started with a prayer followed by the singing of the National Anthem. Then, a Welcome Message was given by Batangas PENR Officer Noel Recillo, thankful to all the attendees and looking forward to more collaborations with them in protecting the forest and environment in the region. Afterward, the meeting was convened by the RMFPC Chairperson with the approval of the agenda and the minutes of the previous meeting and continued with the discussion of the agenda. 

One of the highlights of the meeting is the update on the Committee Resolution entitled  “A Resolution Urging All Local Government Units (LGUs) Within CALABARZON Region to Require Any Entity Engaged in the Sale or Distribution of Forest Products to Submit Certification from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) of the Legal Source Thereof as Pre-requisite Document for the Renewal of Their Business Permits”.

Overall, the agenda for the meeting was fully tackled and came up with agreements to strengthen forest protection efforts within the region.###
