The DENR-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Catanauan, Quezon participated in the coastal clean-up initiated by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Quezon 3rd District Engineering Office in Brgy. Madulao, Catanauan, Quezon.

The said activity was conducted in line with the celebration of the International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) themed “Clean Seas for Healthy Fisheries”. Moreover, the activity was conducted pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 470 series of 2003 “Declaring the third Saturday of September of each year as the International Coastal Clean-up (ICC) Day in observance of the global coastal clean-up celebrations”.

ICC is a global event that promotes local clean-up actions for the coastal areas. It primarily aims to engage the community to remove trash and debris from beaches, waterways, and other water bodies.

Towards the end of the activity, a total of 50 sacks of non-biodegradable wastes were collected within the 2km stretch shoreline of Brgy. Madulao, Catanauan, Quezon.
