Ecosystem Management Specialist I Rose Ann D. Reyes and Development Management Officer II Joseph Anthony C. Gascon from the PENRO Laguna Enforcement and Monitoring Section (EMS) led the discussion on DENR mandates, mission, and vision and various laws, policies, and regulations on forestry, protected areas and wildlife, solid waste management and mining to a total of 81 Basic Citizen Military trainees of the 4th Community Defense Group, RCPA, Camp General Macario Sakay, Los Baños, Laguna on July 27, 2023.

 

The said discussion was conducted in response to the request of the training director with a vision to instill environmental awareness to the trainees of Basic Citizen Military Training (BCMT).

 

BCMT is a military training course conducted by the Philippine Army through the Army Reserve Command. It is an entry-level training course undertaken by Filipino Citizens wanting to enlist in the reserve force.

 

BCMT instruction is administered by a joint training pool of military instructors from both regular and reserve forces and is usually conducted inside any of the Philippine Army's training camps. Guest instructors are requested from other government agencies and non-government organizations (NGOs) for specialized instructions.
