Combined operatives of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) – Lipa and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) CALABARZON Regional Office in Batangas confiscated about 20 million worth of undocumented forest products allegedly used for furniture making.

Upon verification, no necessary permits were issued for the holding and possession of the said forest products. Filing of charges against the perpetrators for violation of Section 77 of P.D. 705 or the Revised Forestry Code as amended (cutting, gathering, and/ or collecting timber or other Forest Products without a license) is currently underway.

The strengthened partnership of CENRO Lipa with crime investigation, intelligence, and law enforcement agencies has resulted in successful operations against the unauthorized transport of forest products in recent months. Strict monitoring and surveillance were made to firm up efforts and strategies to protect the country’s natural resources and hold law offenders accountable.###
