This February, being a month dedicated to and all about love, the DENR CENRO Lipa staff and personnel joined the Tree Hugging Campaign launched by the Forest Management Bureau. Starting February 14, CENRO Lipa personnel grabbed every opportunity they had during fieldwork to express their share of simple acts towards trees and forests.

The Tree Hugging Movement is a passionate action towards the protection and conservation of forests. The movement originated in the 1970s in Northern India known as the “Chipko Movement” which saved the forests by emphasizing the interdependence of humans and the environment. The activity aimed to raise awareness on the importance of the tree hugging movement and promote the social and health benefits derived from nurturing trees and forests.
