DENR CALABARZON through its Gender and Development (GAD) and in partnership with Land Transportation Office (LTO) CALABARZON conducted a free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) among the selected employees of DENR CALABARZON on March 20-21, 2024 at the Ground Floor Conference Hall of DENR CALABARZON Regional Office.

The said activity was part of the Women’s Month celebration. Assistant Regional Director Ronita A. Unlayao said she was delighted that most participants were females. She also emphasized that driving is an additional skill, especially for women. 

“Huwag ninyong iasa ang pag-drive sa mga asawa o boyfriends ninyo, kailangan marunong din kayo” said ARD Unlayao. She jokingly said that driving is an advantage for women to follow husbands or boyfriends. “Hindi lang dapat reproductive ang ating ( mga kababaihan) role, kasali na rin tayo sa productive role sa society” ARD Unlayao uttered.

43 employees (30 females and 13 males) from various divisions and offices availed TDC, passed the assessment, and were issued certificates of completion afterward. 

Moreover, Mr. Jordan A. Bergonia, Mr. Jayme Raffy B. Dimaano, and Mr. Ariel C. Lindo of LTO CALABARZON served as resource speakers of the said course.
