The DENR-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Rizal issued 10 special patents in the name of the municipality of Baras, Rizal in acknowledgement of the exemplary efforts of the said local government unit (LGU) in land administration and management.

The initiative, organized by PENRO Rizal in collaboration with the LGU of Baras, aims to improve land administration and management by increasing title issuance, particularly emphasizing special patents over agricultural lands utilized exclusively by the government to provide essential services to the general public.

The awarding of the said special patents is part of DENR’s "Handog Titulo Program", highlighting the commendable results of the Rapid Land Tenure Appraisal conducted within the said municipality. Notably, the special patents cover various lots used for multipurpose buildings, health centers, Kasarinlan Park, and public cemeteries, all vital to the community's well-being.

Baras Mayor Wilfredo Robles, together with Vice Mayor Katherine Robles and the Sangguniang Bayan Members, were present in the awarding ceremony. Moreover, esteemed guests, including Governor Nina Ricci Ynares, represented by Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro Jun Ynares III, DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria, Rizal PENR Officer Ramil R. Limpiada, and Deputy Registrar of Deeds, Atty. Edwin Flor B. Barroga, represented by Morong, Rizal Examiner Register of Deeds Rodny B. De Rosas graced the event.

The said event encourages constituents of Baras who own agricultural and residential public lands to explore and pursue free patent applications, promoting legal recognition and ownership within the community.

"We commend the municipality of Baras for its dedication to land governance and management," Dir. Nilo Tamoria said. "This collaboration exemplifies the importance of working together to ensure sustainable land use and ownership," he added.
