PENRO Laguna and CENRO Sta. Cruz, Laguna, through the initiative of newly assigned PENR Officer Venerando U. Garcia, held its very first New Year’s Call last January 12, 2024 at the Regional Land Records Extension Office, PENRO Compound, Lalakay, Los Baños, Laguna. 

DENR CALABARZON Regional Executive Director Nilo B. Tamoria explained that New Year’s Call had become a tradition of the department primarily as a platform to outline the directions and instructions which he mentioned, “Sinasamantala natin ang pagkakataon para mailatag ang pundasyon at direksyon na ating tatahakin para sa taong ito.”

Meanwhile, PENRO Garcia presented and laid down the strategic direction and operational instructions for CY 2024 anchored on the priority thrusts of DENR Secretary Maria Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga, as follows: crafting of climate-responsive development projects; enhancing organizational readiness and capabilities; strengthening stakeholder engagement; enhancing solid waste management within office premises; improved working environment; occupational safety and health program; and continuing improvement of service delivery to the public. 

PENRO Garcia also led the recital and signing of the Pledge of Commitment o “Panunumpa ng Pagtatalaga ng Sarili” which exemplifies loyalty and commitment in the attainment of goals and continuity of delivering honest and prompt service to the public. Moreover, PENRO led the ceremonial toast, first and foremost for the DENR Secretary’s wisdom in providing guidance and direction in fulfilling the department’s mandate, for RED Tamoria’s inspirational leadership and guidance, for ARD Bascos’ dedicated service to the department, and lastly for all the personnel and staff of PENRO Laguna and CENRO Sta. Cruz to exhibit continuous dedication, hard work and due diligence in the pursuit of the DENR’s mandates in Laguna province.###
