The DENR-CENRO Sta. Cruz joined the annual celebration of World Wetlands Day themed β€œπ‘Ύπ’†π’•π’π’‚π’π’…π’” 𝒂𝒏𝒅 π‘―π’–π’Žπ’‚π’ π‘Ύπ’†π’π’π’ƒπ’†π’Šπ’π’ˆβ€ through the conduct of a clean-up activity and installation of an exhibit at the CENRO Exhibit Area.
 
The clean-up activity was conducted along the 3.15 km stretch of Mabitac River located in Brgys. Bayanihan, Pag-Asa, Libis ng Nayon and Nanguma, municipality of Mabitac, Laguna. Mabitac River is one of the tributaries in the province of Laguna that drains directly to Laguna Lake. A total of 61 sacks or 90 kg of solid waste were collected by 68 participants composed of representatives from the Local Government Unit of Mabitac and Philippine National Police-Mabitac, students of Laguna State Polytechnic University, members of Linis Ilog, and selected personnel of DENR-CENRO Sta. Cruz.
