CENRO STA. CRUZ CONDUCTS CLEAN-UP ACTIVITY IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD WETLANDS DAY

The DENR-CENRO Sta. Cruz joined the annual celebration of World Wetlands Day themed “𝑾𝒆𝒕𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑯𝒖𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒃𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒈” through the conduct of a clean-up activity and installation of an exhibit at the CENRO Exhibit Area.

 

The clean-up activity was conducted along the 3.15 km stretch of Mabitac River located in Brgys. Bayanihan, Pag-Asa, Libis ng Nayon and Nanguma, municipality of Mabitac, Laguna. Mabitac River is one of the tributaries in the province of Laguna that drains directly to Laguna Lake. A total of 61 sacks or 90 kg of solid waste were collected by 68 participants composed of representatives from the Local Government Unit of Mabitac and Philippine National Police-Mabitac, students of Laguna State Polytechnic University, members of Linis Ilog, and selected personnel of DENR-CENRO Sta. Cruz.
