DENR CENRO Calaca partners with Planet ERG Dell Philippines and Tagalog Outdoors Tribe in the conduct of Mangrove Tree Planting Activity within the Graduated National Greening Program (NGP) Site located in Brgy. Mataas na Bayan, Lemery, Batangas last August 12, 2023. Personnel from the DENR Central Office also participated in the said activity. A total of 500 Rhizophora sp. seedlings were planted in the area.

Forest Technician II Melody Cantos gave a short orientation on the importance of Mangroves and also discussed the proper planting and handling of mangrove seedlings prior to the planting activity. According to FT II Cantos mangrove planting can lessen shoreline erosion and can protect coastal communities against coastal flooding, high winds and storm surges.###
