DENR CALABARZON Manila Bay Site Coordinating/Management Office (MBSCMO) 4 Task Force conducted the first quarter monitoring of previously established structures and projects in the provinces of Batangas, Cavite and Rizal on March 14-15, 2023.

The structures/projects monitored by the group were the following: vertical gardens on the bridges along Brgy. Darasa, Tanauan City across Brgy. Sta. Maria, Sto. Tomas City, and along Brgy. Poblacion 1, Sto. Tomas City across Brgy. Pagaspas, Tanauan City; eco-gardens in Brgys. Sta. Maria, San Isidro Sur, San Agustin, and San Bartolome, Sto. Tomas City; eco-gardens in Brgys. Burgos, San Jose, Rosario, Geronimo, and San Isidro, Rodriguez, Rizal; composting facility in Brgy. Hugo Perez, Trece Martires City; and biogas digesters in Brgys. Kabulusan, Caluangan, and Baliuag (Sites 1 and 2), Magallanes, Cavite.

The establishment of eco-gardens and composting facilities as well as the installation of biogas digesters are part of the major activities of the DENR Calabarzon MBSCMO4 and its provincial counterparts that aim to promote sustainable living in urban barangays through the practice of organic farming, composting, recycling, and other sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
