Mountain White-eye (Zosterops montanus) was spotted in Pollillo Watershed Forest Reserve (PWFR), Polillo, Quezon during the biodiversity monitoring activity of the DENR-CENRO Real, Quezon personnel headed by PWFR OIC Forester Azor Bonita on March 8, 2023.

Coming from the family Zosteropideae, the said wild bird is endemic to the Island of Luzon and falls under the conservation status of Least Concern Species.

Using the Biodiversity Monitoring System, biodiversity monitoring within protected areas are regularly conducted by the DENR to assess the different species of plants and animals and its environment. aims to identify trends in biodiversity and resource uses to guide the actions of the Protected Area Management Board, the Local Government Units, and the local communities in natural resource management in protected areas.
