The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) CALABARZON Division Chiefs and ENR Academy learners joined the DENR-Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Laguna in its tree planting activity along a riverbank in Brgy. Maitim, Bay, Laguna on June 8, 2022.

The said activity was part of the nationwide simultaneous tree planting initiated by the department in celebration of the Philippine Environment Month themed “Aksyon Para sa Natatanging Mundo” with #OnlyOneEarth.

“May iisang mundo lang tayo. Marapat lang na pangalagaan natin ito,” Laguna DENR-PENR Officer Eriberto Sanos said while emphasizing the important role of everybody to save the planet Earth from further deterioration through actions as simple as proper waste disposal and participation in tree planting and clean-up activities.

A total of 15 ENRA learners of the DENR Calabarzon joined in the said event. Seven of which were from the Frontline Course while eight were from the Basic Course.

DENR CALABARZON Licenses, Patents and Deeds Division (LPDD) Chief and ENRA Manager, Engr. Olivia Bejo said the ENRA learners need to have community engagement such as the said tree planting activity in order for them to receive their respective certificates of completion of the Course. However, more than completing the Course, she emphasized that the said activity is the learners’ chance to contribute to nature.

The Chiefs of LPDD, Enforcement Division, Legal Division, Planning and Management Division, and Administrative Division, including the Chief and staff of the Human Resource Development Section of the regional department also participated in the activity.
