One (1) Juvenile Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) was rescued at Brgy. Balaytigue, Nasugbu, Batangas. The said wildlife was turned over to DENR CENRO Calaca by PSMS Alexander Morcilla of Western Batangas Maritime Police Precinct (MPP) based in Brgy. Wawa, Nasugbu, Batangas. The information about the said bird reached the office of Western Batangas MPP through a post from the Facebook Page “Nasugbu Reklamo Official ''.

The Juvenile Brahminy Kite was found by a concerned citizen, Mr. Baslio Bauyon, at the shoreline of Tali Beach Residential Resort in Nasugbu, around 4 o’clock in the afternoon which appeared weak.

Upon turnover, a team from CENRO Calaca Enforcement and Monitoring Section immediately checked the physical condition of the Brahminy Kite and was observed to have no injuries but seems weak possibly due to stress and hunger. The bird was temporarily taken care of by CENRO Calaca for further evaluation and assessment of the health condition of the wildlife prior to its eventual release back to the wild in accordance with Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (RA 9147).
