Personnel from Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Tayabas together with representatives from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Dolores, Quezon conducted a clean-up activity along Lagnas River in Barangays Maligaya, Silanganan and Manggahan, Dolores, Quezon.

About 10 sacks of non-biodegradable waste were collected by the participants ranging from shampoo & conditioner sachets, soap wrappers, junk food & candy wrappers, plastic cups, plastic drinking straws, plastic bottles, disposable spoon & fork, empty tin cans, face masks, plastic sando bags, broken plastic toys, cloths, slippers & shoes, etc. within 227 meters.

The Lagnas River, which has an estimated stretch of 12.41 kilometers, is identified for Integrated Watershed Management Rehabilitation activities of CENRO Tayabas under the Soil Conservation and Watershed Management including River Basin Management and Development. Consultation meetings with concerned agencies, survey and mapping of informal settlers (IS) along the river including solid waste accumulation and liquid waste discharges, monitoring of its water quality and more clean-up operations are also set to be conducted within the CY 2022. ###
