Field Validation and Monitoring of Biodiversity-Friendly Enterprises (BDFE) within Verde Island Passage were conducted by Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB)- BDFE Core Group and assisted by DENR Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Calaca this April 2022.

Included in the BDFE projects validated and monitored were: Fermented Fish Production and Processing of Samahang Mandaragat ng Banoyo Peoples Organization in Brgy. Banoyo, San Luis, Batangas; Lumaniag Ecotourism Project of Lian Fisherfolks Association Inc. in Brgy. Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas; Balayan Fishers Production and Marketing of Bagoong and Patis Sauce of Ang Nagkakaisang Mamamayang Kostal ng Balayan (ANAK Balayan) Peoples Organization in Brgy. Palikpikan, Balayan, Batangas; Seaweed Farm Expansion of Batangas Seaweed Farmers Association (BASEFA) in Poblacion II, Calatagan, Batangas; Installation of Artificial Reef for Ecosystem Rehabilitation and Ecotourism Enhancement at the Twin Islands of Bukluran ng Maliliit na Mangingisda ng Balaytigue Inc. (BMMB Inc.) in Brgy. Balaytigue, Nasugbu, Batangas; Enhancing Awareness on the Significance of Conserving Marine Ecosystems thru the Production of Seaweed Crackers and Chips of Samahan ng Kababaihang Mangingisda ng Sitio Manuel Uy (SKSMU) Peoples Organization in Brgy. Sta Ana, Calatagan, Batangas; Fish Processing (Production and Marketing of Surimi Paste) of Samahan ng Mandaragat sa Sulok Fisherfolks Association) in Brgy. Lumaniag, Lian, Batangas

This activity aims to ensure smooth implementation of BDFE projects under Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Program (CMEMP).
