The said exhibit is part of the continuous Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign and advocacy efforts of the office to continuously engage and raise awareness among key stakeholders in the province for the protection and conservation of the environment and natural resources. It highlights the urgent need for action to save the country’s wetlands and features wetlands found within the province. The exhibit was open for viewing to all personnel and day-to-day clients of the office.

World Wetlands Day is celebrated annually on 2 February and aims to raise global awareness of the vital role of wetlands for people and the planet. A call to take action for wetlands is the focus of this year’s campaign. It is an appeal to invest financial, human, and political capital to save the world’s wetlands from disappearing and to restore those that have been degraded. ###
