The DENR CENRO Lipa conducted a Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) activity in observance of the National Zero Waste Month as the Office participated in the Coastal and Underwater Clean-up Activity spearheaded by the LGU of Mabini, Batangas through the Municipal Tourism Office on January 21, 2022 at Brgy. Mainit, Mabini, Batangas. Ocean Conservancy Trash Data Forms were used in order to generate data analysis of wet and dry trash collected. It will also serve as reference for policy implications which might address management of wastes from production of raw materials up to human utilization.

The community cleanup activity yielded a total of 135 kilograms of waste materials collected by 50 volunteers composed of community members and local divers. Minimum health standards and safety measures against COVID-19 were properly observed and practiced during the activity.
