As part of the agroforestry plantation establishment project under Enhanced National Greening Program (ENGP) CY 2021, the DENR CENRO Calaca in partnership with the Tulo Farmers Association and Samahan ng mga Magtatanim sa Pinagbanderahan Peoples Organization, planted 56,000 Agroforestry seedlings including Annona muricata (Guyabano), Coffea sp. (Coffee), Theobroma cacao (Cacao), Anacardium occidentale (Cashew) and Annona squamosa  (Sugar apple/Atis) in the 112-hectare NGP plantation located in Brgy. Kapito, Lian, Batangas.

On the other hand, 129,000 Agroforestry seedlings including Annona muricata (Guyabano), Coffea sp. (Coffee), Theobroma cacao (Cacao), Anacardium occidentale (Cashew), Annona squamosa (Sugar apple/Atis), Syzygium cumini (Java plum/Duhat), and Nephelium lappaceum (Rambutan) were planted in the 258-hectare agroforestry plantation in Brgys. Latag, and Butucan, Nasugbu Batangas. The DENR CENRO Calaca in partnership with four (4) Peoples Organization namely: Samahan ng Magsasaka sa Sitio Cueba, Maangyo Fruit Bearing Planter, Matahong Forestry Group, and Samahan ng mga Magsasaka ng Sitio Pingkian Alacaac Bernanda, initiated its establishment.

Maintenance and protection activities such as weeding, replanting, staking, brushing, and continuous patrolling and monitoring of the planted seedlings will be done until the year 2024 to ensure its high survival rate.

The National Greening Program (NGP) as the DENR banner program is a convergence initiative of DA-DAR-DENR where the DENR stands as the lead agency. It was issued in the year 2011 under Executive Order No. 26 which aims to plant 1.5 billion trees in 1.5 million hectares of lands of the public domain for a period of six (6) years from CY 2011 to CY 2016. This was extended through Executive Order No. 193 in 2015 which aims to rehabilitate all the remaining unproductive, denuded, and degraded forestlands estimated at 7.1 million hectares from 2016 to 2028. ###
