A simultaneous river clean-up was conducted by the Rizal Manila Bay Site Coordinating Office in collaboration with the Local Government Unit from Angono, Binangonan, Cainta, and Taytay, Rizal on September 18, 2021, within its priority river systems.

A total of 517 sacks of waste was collected. Were 6,660 kilograms of biodegradable waste (including Water Hyacinth) and 1,405 kilograms of non-biodegradable waste were removed from a total of 295 meters of waterways of Angono River, Bilibiran Lakeshore, Lagundi Creek and, Cainta River.

Collected waste was then transported to the material recovery facility (MRF) of the concerned barangays for the recycling and composting program.

The celebration was participated by 32 river rangers and LGU representatives armed with PPEs. 

ICC aims to spread awareness and to educate people and create solutions to the problems of solid waste litter in our coastal areas.
