On June 15, 2021, PENRO Cavite thru its Coastal and Marine Management Unit (CMMU) in collaboration with LGU Maragondon, Cavite State University (CvSU) - Main Campus, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and volunteer divers conducted a Seagrass Monitoring in the 1.05 ha seagrass patches in Brgy. Patungan, Maragondon, Cavite.

More than a hectare of seagrass patches were observed in front of Sitio Iba, Brgy. Papaya, Nasugbu, Batangas wherein three (3) more seagrass species were identified. Presently, a total of six (6) seagrass species are found in the Coastal waters of Cavite namely: Thalassia hemprichii, Halophila ovalis, Halodule uninervis, Cymodecea rotundata, Syringodium isoetifolium, and Enhalus acoroides.

Aside from that, volunteer divers located the Artificial Reef installed in Maragondon Fish Sanctuary and marked it with an improvised bouy. A coral garden was also observed and likewise marked with an improvised bouy.
