Catanauan, Quezon -  In line with the World Mangrove Day 2020 Celebration this 26th of July, Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Catanauan, Quezon simultaneously conducted Coastal Clean-up and Mangrove Tree Planting Activity along the coastal and mangrove areas of Brgy. Matandang Sabang Kanluran, Catanauan, Quezon.

The activity was conducted as part of the Social Marketing and Mobilization component of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Management Program (CMEMP) and to continuously implement DENR Priority Programs amid COVID-19 pandemic which was participated by the CENRO Catanauan personnel, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer, Committee on Environment, Barangay Officials and residents. 

A brief orientation for the conduct of activity was started by the Focal of Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Management Program (CMEMP) by explaining the importance of the activity as to why World Mangrove Day is yearly celebrated. 

OIC, CENRO, Joselito D. Barros encouraged the participants to support DENR Projects and Programs implemented in their Barangay and initiate the conduct of same activities to maintain the cleanliness and avoid losing of the remaining mangrove species within the coastal areas.  

“We should continue to implement this kind of activities in order to protect and conserve the remaining marine resources for the benefit of the present and future generations” OIC, CENRO Barros said. ###
