The DENR-Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Catanauan, Quezon supports the celebration of 2024 National Women’s Month (NWM) with the sub-theme: “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas, Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan”

This year’s sub-theme reaffirms men and women’s equitable opportunities which should not be hindered by gender biases and discriminatory stereotypes. The phrase “Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!” aims to showcase and harness the full potential of women and girls for active engagement and reaping the benefits of inclusive national growth and development.

In observance of this year’s event, the CENRO played during its Monday Convocation the Women’s Month version of Lupang Hinirang, stressing the nobilities of women heroes of Philippine history; physical exercises every Friday of March; hanging of the 2024 National Women’s Month official banner; use of 2024 NWM’s frame on the personal social media accounts of the employees; and distribution of purple shirts bearing the theme and wearing of the same every Friday to support the “Purple Fridays”. 

The said office also facilitated the conduct of “Serbisyo Para kay Juana”, wherein, 10 hygiene kits were given to the first 10 female clients, and 50 seedlings of fruit trees and Gender and Development (GAD) IEC materials were distributed to female clients of the office.

CENRO Catanauan GAD Focal Person, Mariel P. Cordova encouraged her co-employees to give their month-long support to the celebration of NWM.
